Laura Andrews - Oronoco, Minnesota
Training in art, color, theatrical costuming, glass lampworking, metalworking,
wirework, beading, and communications have led Laura to teaching beadwork
as art. Her extensive background in theatrical costume design has provided
a great deal of related experience, especially in color selection and
tonal relationships. Laura had the wonderful opportunity to train with
a Miyuki master instructor in Tokyo. As a recognized national instructor,
Laura is eager to return to the Northwest Bead Festivals to share her
love of color and bead artistry.
Kelley Angeley - Florence, Oregon
Kelley has been teaching beading for hte past three years, but has always
had beads in her life. She is an internationally recognized artist and
has been publlished in several books and magazines, including: Beadazzled:
Where Beads and Inspiration Meet, Beadwork, and Bead
& Button.
Janice Berkebile - Bothell,
Washington
A native to the northwest, Janice has been working with beads for over
ten years. She has taught several national shows and has been published
several times in Beadwork Magazine. After her first year at the
2006 Puget Sound Bead Festival, we are pleased to have Janice sharing
her talents at the 1st Annual Bellingham Bead Festival.
Christine Briggs - Tacoma, Washington
Christine has been working as a manager and teacher at The Bead Factory
for the past five years. Her expertise in PMC and jewelry design has made
her an inspirational and innovative teacher. She is also the class coordinator
for both The Bellingham Bead Festival and The Puget Sound Bead Festival.
Melissa Cable - Bellevue, Washington
Melissa is the owner of Beadclub bead store in Woodinville,
WA. Her work has been featured in Interweave Press's A Beaders Stash and
Stringing magazine. IN addition to teaching at her store, she has taught
at several bead shows around the country and was a featured demonstrator
at the Northwest Bead Society's Bead Bazaar. Although she enjoys all mediums,
her true passion is developing innovative projects from metal and wire
using low-tech tools that her students can enjoy using at home with minimal
investment.
Lisa Claxton - Berkeley, California
Lisa Claxton is currently a board member of the Bead Society of Northern
California, serving as the Program Chair for the 2007-2008 calendar year.
In addition to her work with the Bead Society, Lisa has been beading and
twisting wire since her teenage years. Her current work focuses on textile
techniques with wire and anything that involves torches and texture. Although
her home base is Baubles & Beads in Berkeley, CA, where she has taught
beading and wire classes for over ten years, she can be found inspiring
students around the country and online.
Liana Crandall - Tacoma, Washington
Liana has been working and teaching at The Bead Factory in Tacoma for
the past three years, where she is also the in-house jewelry designer.
Her enthusiasm and skill allow her to bring a new creative approach to
wire and other mediums.
Carrie Hamm - Tacoma, Washington
Carrie has been working and teaching at The
Bead Factory for over ten years. She has been helping in class development
for The Bead Factory for the past four years. Carrie's designs can be
found in many fine shops around the Pacific Northwest.
Mark Lareau - Tacoma, Washington
Mark has been teaching wire working nationally for the last 13 years and
is co-owner of The Bead Factory
in Tacoma. He is the author of the highly-acclaimed book All
Wired Up, and recently released Getting
Started Making Metal Jewelry. Mark's gift for teaching has made
him The Bead Factory's most popular instructor.
Viki Lareau - Tacoma, Washington
Viki is the co-owner of The Bead Factory
in Tacoma and has been teaching marketing and jewelry design for over
fifteen years. She teaches at several national conferences and does business
consulting for many jewelry designers. Viki is also the producer of the
Puget Sound Bead Festival, and author of Marketing
and Selling Your Handmade Jewelry.
Tracy
Stanley - Bellevue, Washington
Tracy Stanley gained a deep appreciation for natural and organic elements
through living in the Pacific Northwest. Having taught the past 15 years,
Tracy finds great satisfaction in passing on knowledge and skills that
give her students solid techniques and pieces of which they can be proud.
She teaches at a local bead store and travels to teach at bead stores
and shows nationally as well.
Leilani Williams - Tacoma,
WA
Leilani is the current store manager at The Bead Factory in Tacoma, and
has been working with beads and teaching for the past four years. Her
skill and clear way of teaching make her classes fun and rewarding for
students of all levels.
